When to go

Pilegrimsveien følger den gl kongeveien

Our advice is to choose the period from June to September, to avoid walking through snowy terrain. The best choice is to take the walk in July when the days are long, the nights short and the weather at its best.

Make sure you arrive in Trondheim before 29 July, St Olav's Feast Day. This is when the St. Olavs Festival starts.

Your guidebooks
We recommend Pilgrim Road to Nidaros - St Olav's Way, Oslo to Trondheim (with maps) by Alison Raju, Cicerone Press Ltd 2002 and
On the Pilgrim Way to Trondheim (local guide), Tapir Publishers 2008 (available in English, French, Spanish and German).
