Kråkfjellet (Crow Mountain) is Trondheim's highest mountain top following the municipal fusion with Klæbu in 2020. The top is 810 meters above sea level. Our former king, Olav V, hiked to Kråkfjellet along with prime minister Per Borten in 1969, and this is marked with a memorial plaque by the cairn. The best way to reach the top in summertime is by driving to Samsjøen (toll road) and park there. Then it is an at least two hour walk to the top. There are almost no trails and the terrain is swampy and hilly (not steep).
